REPORT OF THE INTERACT CLUB OF APEEJAY SCHOOL, NOIDA 2012-2013

unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or another. If we
cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service
will steadily grow stronger, and it will make not only for our own happiness,

The session
started with the Installation of the new team of office bearers of the club.
The new team of the Interact club of Apeejay School, NOIDA was formally
installed on 23rd of August 2012. The President of Rotary Club
Midtown, Mr. Atul Dua, Chairperson Mr. Rahul Bhargava and Co Chairperson Ms
Ritika Mittal graced the occasion with their presence.
The
outgoing President Nitya Agarwal and the incoming President Tanika Tarani gave
a report on the past and the present activities of the club. The club members
depicted the status of a girl child in Indian society through a dance and video
presentation.Mr. Rahul Bhargava congratulated the new team of the Interact club
and motivated the students. He also shared the theme Jal Hai to Kal hai with
the students and asked them to think of innovative and cost effective ways to
conserve water.
On 1st
August 7, 2012 the members of the Interact Club of our school visited Mata
Bhagwati Chadha Niketan to celebrate the occasion of Raksha Bandhan with the especially
abled children. The inmates of the Niketan were absolutely and utterly
overjoyed and ecstatic to celebrate this festival with our students. Mani
Karan, a small six year old inmate of the Niketan was especially excited seeing
so many people tying rakhis around his wrist .All of us appreciated the zest
for life which we saw in the eyes of the inmates.
In the
month of August the members of the Interact Club attended AWARE’- Interact
Symposium at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. The symposium
highlighted the issue of ‘Assuring Women A Risk-free Environment’ – AWARE. Many
eminent personalities spoke on the subject and helped in sensitizing our
students towards this burning issue.
This year
our Interactors promoted the message of Peace Through Service by designing
postcards to illustrate how Interact club contributes to peace and understanding.
Nitya Agarwal submitted an article on the given topic of promoting peace
through service.
Some
students participated in this competition through designing post cards to
showcase their creativity.
A training session for the Interact club members was
organized at the District Interact Leadership Assembly at Apeejay Sheikh Sarai,
New Delhi on 6th September, which was attended by Mrs. Santosh Desai and
students-Navya Jain, Osheen Tickoo and Tanya Gole of Class X at Apeejay School,
Sheikh Sarai on 6th September. Chief Guest, Dr. Kiran Bedi graced the occasion.
The
Interact club of the school observed the "Joy Of Giving" week
from 1st October 2012 to 6th October 2012. In this project the students were encouraged and motivated
to donate items such as old clothes, utensils, stationary etc. The collected
items were given to an NGO named "GOONJ". The aim of this initiative
was to make the students realize the importance of giving and sharing. The
students learned the true meaning of sharing as they donated numerous items and
felt elated. They also realized that our possessions of numerous luxuries and
facilities are in excess of our needs. The club members pledged to observe the Joy
Of Giving And Sharing all throughout their lives.
The Interact
Club members took up the issue of spreading the message of a CRACKER FREE
DIWALI among the school students. This initiative was highly successful.
The students took a Pledge and participated in the Signature Campaign to
support the cause of a CRACKER FREE DIWALI. The Interactors gave a talk in the
morning assembly every day of the week preceding Diwali. They also collected
diyas and candles for the community celebration of Diwali in the school
premises
A very
important work of the Interact Club is to generate funds for just causes and
this year the club members generated Rs 7000/- for the Society for Communal
Harmony .
The most
successful Endeavour of the club this year has been the conduct of a Blood
Donation Camp on 22nd of December 2012. The camp was held under the aegis
of the Rotary Blood Bank. The student volunteers motivated the visiting parents
to donate blood and help in the overcoming an acute shortage of blood in Delhi
and NCR. More than 130 parents were registered for the Donation.
It has been
a regular tradition for the Interact Club members to make flags for the
celebration of all National festivals- Independence Day and Republic Day
in the school. This year also the Interactors kept this tradition alive and
made hundreds of flags for teachers and all school students and pinned them on
their lapels.
Conclusion
Thousands of
candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be
shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
