Joy of Giving Week : 1st November

On 1st November some of our less privileged friends were invited to the school and we saw in their glowing eyes constant awe and gratitude. Interactors  of Apeejay NOIDA  handed over the donations collected during the Joy of Giving Week, and experienced firsthand that true joy can only be felt by being selfless and adding a little more to someone else's life.
To us the donations might not have been much - maybe a sweater that won't fit anymore - but to them, it was their savior from cold blustery nights, thus illuminating their Diwali. The little things that had not left modicum of value in our lives, made a gigantic difference to theirs. The students realized that in our luxuries we forget about other people's problems because we are so cocooned in our own lives. And this act of selflessness was an eye-opener for all.
After all, how much does it take to bring a smile to someone else's face? Just a little bit of our time and the willingness to help.

Interact Club Installation Ceremony 2013-14

The Interact Club Installation ceremony was held on 29th August 2013. The ceremony began with the invoking the blessing of god and a motivational speech by Manjiri ma'am, who informed us that with the fast growing world we are forgetting our value system, our roots and therefore that is when the need of an Interact Club comes in. the Interact Club with a motto of 'Service before Self' encourages everyone to do more and more and bring about a real change.
And because our school deeply nurtures the talent of music, we also had 'JugalBandi' a tabla performance by a group of students.
Then Tanika tarani, the outgoing President of the Interact club gave a speech, sharing her delightful experience as being a part of the Interact Club and how tremendously they had contributed towards the society.
Also the chief guests- senior Rotarians, Mr.Rahul Bhargav and Suresh Gupta illuminated our minds and suggested us to facilitate organ donation awareness.
Followed by this was the badge ceremony where Principal Sir, Mr.Rahul Bhargav and Mr.Suresh Gupta handed over the respective responsibilities to the members of the Interact Club.
Then, a moving play highlighting the plight of the Girl Child was enacted by the students of Apeejay NOIDA. Their theatrical performances took our breath away.
Lastly Bhavya Suneja, incoming President of Interact Club gave a speech promising to fulfill all her duties and to uphold the name of Interact Club.

The Joy Of Giving.
Apeejay School, NOIDA in the first week of October organized “Joy of giving”. In this week students from all classes donated their clothes, books, toys etc. to the needful sections of the society. Through this, they realized that all the things that they consider trivial and take for granted, bring great joy to all those children who are underprivileged. Through this joy of giving activity students by the simple act of giving found that when others are in need, and you can help them out, it gives you inner peace and contentment.
The Interactors  believe that it is important to teach everyone to make a contribution to someone’s life.
Therefore, they will be organizing such activities even more as there is no joy greater than the joy of giving.
So, if you have things that you don’t need, then you must give them to those who don’t have them. After all, how much does it take to make someone happy? Just a bit of your time and a munificent nature. And you will be truly blessed!

The Interact Club members of Apeejay School, NOIDA went on a noble mission to add joy to the lives of mentally and physically challenged children of Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan School. It was indeed a great experience as it was the occasion of Rakhsha Bandhan and all special students tied rakhis and received beautiful handmade gifts.
The school has a very committed faculty and the teachers are very solicitous and compassionate as to the special needs of the special students. The visit to this school taught us that we take things for granted and with our luxuries, we forget the gifts of life God has bestowed upon us.  The children of Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan School made a deep impact into our hearts and minds because even with their disabilities, they portray immense talent. We Interactors also played games like badminton with them, danced and heard their melodious voices.

Parting with these new friends was hard, but our hearts saluted the enthusiasm of these children and we were elated that we could bring smiles to all those faces.

Rakhi Celebrations 2013-14

On 19th August 2013, the members of Interact Club visited Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan on the occasion of Rakhi. The entire trip, from the moment we stepped in to the moment we boarded the bus to back was enlightening and will be imprinted on our minds for the rest of our lives.
Upon visiting their workshops, we were overawed and baffled at the amazing handicrafts that the students had made over there. But more than the works of art, it was the way their eyes lit up upon seeing us enter that we'll remember. Their workmanship was far beyond what any of us ever comprehend. Every hand that was tied a Rakhi to was insistent in giving us a gift in return. No matter how much we persisted, they pressed them down in our hands, pleading politely as always. We got the same joyous reception in every class we entered. Every special child seemed reluctant to let go of our hands and kept on chattering to us about their everyday lives. We also played badminton with students - and lost fair and square! Then we met the feisty Chahat. who insisted on leading all of us through a singalong of a few of of her favorite songs. Pallavi too enthralled us with her voice and dance steps. They were all a joy to watch. Their delight at everyday things such as maybe saying their names properly or remembering the lyrics to their favorite songs made us appreciate the smaller gifts of life.
We had walked in as ordinary, everyday teenagers who did not give two hoots about what went on around them. We stepped out as sensible, compassionate and more grateful for what we generally took for granted in our lives. God gives us everything, sometimes we just need to pause and appreciate it.
